Project Note
Floor-to-ceiling bookshelves painted a deep sage, an antique writing desk pulled to the window, and a Persian rug the owner inherited and finally had a room to put down. Built for long mornings and long sentences.
The Story
The client is a novelist. The brief was a room she would never want to leave, with enough wall to hold thirty years of books and enough light to read into the afternoon without a lamp.
We built the shelves in two long elevations, painted them a deep sage we mixed on site, and added a tucked-in cupboard for the printer and the cords. The desk faces the window; everything else faces the desk.
